Ilana is a Professor in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University where she leads a research program in arthritis and joint replacement surgery and supervises doctoral and undergraduate research students. Her research has been widely published and she has a longstanding record of positive engagement with clinicians and health services.

Ilana is also an experienced physiotherapist and has worked in public and private hospitals in both acute and rehabilitation settings. She has held numerous leadership roles in her field, including as the former Chair of the Journal of Physiotherapy Editorial Board and as a member of the National Advisory Council of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. She has held key advisory roles at international, national and state levels to improve the quality of care and health outcomes for people with osteoarthritis.

Outside of work, Ilana enjoys travelling, good food, time with her family and walks with her cavoodle.
